Code is a representative measure of continuous improvement activities in the environmental, safety, and health sectors propelled by RC and provides implementation guidelines and examples of the 6 codes recommended by the RCLG. Each company can establish goals and plans for implementation guidelines by code and implement them to propel continuous improvement activities.

* (Implementation Guidelines) This is a concrete RC practice that identifies what concerns the member company the most from the outside and this serves to induce performance improvement by drawing up specific goals and plans and implementing them according to the implementation guidelines at each workplace.

Community awareness and emergency response This is to ensure emergency response status based on the promise of information disclosure and communication with the community and to create the right to know and consists of 19 implementation guidelines.
Process safety This is to protect employees, property, environment, etc. and to instill a belief in the safe factory to all stakeholders, including the government and local residents by preventing fires, explosions, and leaks in chemical plants and consists of 17 implementation guidelines.
Employees' Health & Safety This is to protect and promote the safety and health of employees in the workplace and of partner employees entering and leaving the workplace and consists of 13 implementation guidelines.
Environmental protection This is to reduce the amount of pollutants emitted from chemical facilities, and to protect employees and the environment by reducing the amount of waste generated and to increase the awareness of the environment, safety, and health of all stakeholders, and consists of 14 implementation guidelines.
Distribution This is aimed at reducing the risk of harm to the general public and the environment as well as carriers, distributors, and chemical industry workers during the chemical distribution process, and consists of 16 implementation guidelines.
Product Stewardship This aims to ensure that safety, health, and the environment are preserved throughout the entire process from the development stage production, sales, distribution, consumption, recycling to disposal and consists of 11 implementation guidelines.

  • Korea Responsible Care Council produces code books and RC guides and provides them to its member companies to help hands-on workers understand the code of implementation guidelines and to ensure that the implementation of Responsible Care in the workplace is carried out smoothly.
  • The code book, 「Responsible Care Code Standards」, contains the purpose of each code and its relationship to basic policy, evaluation of items in implementation guide and action examples.
  • 「Responsible Care guide」 is designed in a binder format to help hands-on workers easily understand and practice code content at their respective workplaces. The guide contains detailed information such as a response care overview, promotion system, explanation of execution guidelines for each code and examples of execution methods, glossary of terms, and answers to frequently asked questions.
  • The member company shall review the contents of this code book and guide and ensure that the contents of the implementation guidelines for each code can be effectively implemented at the workplace.
